Aloha!
Welcome all to Koa Kulture. Why Koa Kulture you ask? Koa as a word in Hawaiian can translate into "Brave" "Fearless" or "Warrior/Solidier". Koa wood was used throught the Hawaiian culture in bowls, weapons, and canoes!
The purpose of this blog is not to only promote the emerging sport of Outrigger Canoe Racing, but also promote the Aloha of the polynesian culture. There are many great sites, with alot of information, none I find cover the stories behind the sport. As you all know there is much more to this sport then event dates and race results. I hope to capture this part of our sport that we have grown to love.
Looking forward, I hope to be able to provide great content such as: "Behind the Sceanes" Interviews, New Products, Events, Off-Season Training Tips, Photos, Videos, and much more. If there is something you would like to see just let me know.
Mahalo,
MikeD
Hey Mike, Great idea! There's always a lot of info out there on races and individuals but I always want more of the aloha, the history, the language and the culture. Good on ya!
